Occasional in the narrow ecotone between a small patch of jack pine woodland and a large peatland. Partial shade of large Pinus banksiana, also Picea mariana and Pinus strobus. Sandy soil. Gently sloping setting not far above the elevation of the peatland. Shrubs, to ~ 6 feet tall; most of the several dozen plants here are heavily browsed by deer. White flowers.
