Locality: United States, Minnesota, Fillmore, Along the middle reaches of Shattuck Creek in rugged terrain two miles west of Choice, eight miles southeast of Lanesboro.

Habitat: Local here, associated with 20- to 30-foot high, west-facing cliffs perched along a major ravine (in an old rock-core meander) on the moderately steep mid-slope of a 200-foot bluff. Scattered patches totaling a few hundred plants, mostly in dolomite cobble at the base of the cliffs here, and infrequent on cliff top edge and other narrow ledges. Shaded by Tilia americana and Acer saccharum in the surrounding mesic hardwood forest. Cliff base (dripline) plants are rooted in silty soil amongst angular cobbles.
Associated Species: Associates include Aquilegia canadensis, Chenopodium album, Pilea sp.
