Locality: United States, Minnesota, Fillmore, Along the middle reaches of Diamond Creek, in rugged terrain five miles east of Lanesboro, not far up the north fork of the creek from its confluence with the south fork.

Verbatim Elevation: 860feet
Habitat: Local on the narrow valley bottomland, at the base of a steep, 220-foot, northwest-facing bluff. Loose colony in the eastern portion of a small (1-acre) seepage meadow dominated by Carex laevivaginata. Several dozen clumps here in moist, mucky silt. Full sun. Vegetative shoots are leafy, erect, and of similar height as the fertile culms.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex stipata, C. hysteracina, C. vulpinoidea, C. retrorsa, Scirpus atrovirens, Aster prenanthoides, Eupatorium perfoliatum.
