Locality:
United States, Minnesota, Anoka, Level terrain east of Highway 65, and north of the Anoka County Airport (Janes Field) in the city of Blaine, in a small area on the east side of County Road 52, south of 105th Avenue.

Habitat:
Locally abundant. Often forming large and dense patches in moist sand, in a ~one-acre zone that appears to be a shallow borrow pit, possibly for the adjacent golf course. The surface of the land here is within a few inches of the elevation of the adjacent cattail marsh. Full sun. Often rooting in moss mats.

Associates include Cyperus lupulinus, Dichanthelium acuminatum, Agrostis scabra, Rumex acetosella, Polygala sanguinea, Achillea millefolium, Trifolium hybridum, Chrysanthemum leucanthemum, Viola sagittata.
