Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Rolling to fairly rugged terrain south of Highway 169, west of Twin Lakes, seven miles southwest of Ely.

Habitat: Local on and near the margins of a small (one-acre) bog pond, in a ~150-acre peatland (mostly a stunted spruce bog). Most abundant at the water's edge, but also occasional in subtly lower and wetter depressions- these are dominated by Rhynchospora alba, in a fairly broad zone of low-statured vegetation adjacent to the pond. Wet spongy peat. Largely continuous Sphagnum carpets. Full sun.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Drosera intermedia, Scheuchzeria palustris, Eriophorum virginicum, Vaccinium macrocarpon.
