Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Gently to strongly rolling terrain south of Highway 169, one mile north-northwest of Purvis Lake, eight miles southwest of Ely.

Habitat: Common along a two-track forest road (logging road). Collection made in a sunny setting where the road runs through a young red pine plantation (rows of young pines replacing the native mixed mesic forest which was clear-cut ~5 years ago). Gravelly sandy-loam. Forming dense patches along the roadway, and in log landings. Yellow flowers.

Associated Taxa: Associates include Agrostis alba, Phleum pratense, Phalaris arundinacea, Trifolium hybridum, T. pratense, Tanacetum vulgare, Chrysanthemum leucanthemum, Plantago major, Solidago canadensis, Achillea millefolium, Potentilla recta, Rubus strigosus.
