Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Along the Taconite Trail in gently to strongly rolling terrain south of Highway 169, southwest of Purvis Lake, nine miles southwest of Ely.

Habitat: Local in a shallow wet area (~½-acre vernal wetland) in the trail corridor (which is an old road here). Partially shaded by the adjacent mesic forest (Abies balsamea, Populus tremuloides, and Betula papyrifera). Dozens of clumps; many / most with ~deformed perigynia. Shallow organic cap over moist, gravelly, sandy-loam.
Associated Species: Associated with Veronica scutellata.
