Habitat:
Local in a fairly large (~10-acre) bedrock outcrop complex rising 15-30 feet above thousands of acres of peat bog. Occasional in shallow detrital-organic soil over level to gently sloping, metasedimentary bedrock (biotite schist). Full sun.
Associated Species:
Associates include Dichanthelium acuminatum, Danthonia spicata, Agrostis scabra, Selaginella rupestris, Corydalis sempervirens, Fallopia cilinodis, Hieracium umbellatum, Senecio paupercula, Viola adunca, Woodsia ilvensis, Vaccinium angustifolium, Prunus pensylvanica.
