United States, Minnesota, Koochiching, Extensive patterned peatland complex along the South Fork Black River, 20 miles northwest of Big Falls, 25 miles northeast of Waskish, east of the river.

Habitat:
Local in a broad ecotonal zone of ash and cedar swamp bordering an upland rise. Partial shade beneath patchy canopy dominated by Fraxinus nigra, and scattered Thuja occidentalis and Betula papyrifera. Patchy understory includes Alnus incana and Abies balsamea. Moist, firm, organic substrate. Loose patch of small clumps here.

Additional associates include Glyceria striata, Carex gracillima, Maianthemum canadense, Equisetum sylvaticum, E. arvense, Iris versicolor, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus, Rhamnus alnifolia, Athyrium angustum, Aralia nudicaulis.
