Habitat:
Locally abundant in a large beaver meadow recovering from past flooding. Forming dense patches in slightly higher elevation zones, mostly in settings fairly far away from the large dam that was partially breached in recent years, resulting in a ~2- to 3-foot drop in the level of the pond. Full sun. Moist organic substrate. Hard frost in the past week has turned most plants brown.
