Locality: United States, Minnesota, St. Louis, Strongly rolling forested terrain west of Ash Lake, eight miles north-northeast of the town of Nett Lake, 14 miles northwest of Orr.

Habitat: Very locally abundant along a small stream flowage where it cuts through a small cedar swamp that is recovering from past beaver flooding. Partial shade of Thuja occidentalis and Abies balsamea. Forming loose to rather dense patches in shallow water and on nearby wet mucky organic soil. Leaves floating on the water's surface, or reclined on the wet muck above the water line; flower stalks ascending to erect.
Associated Species: Associates include Bidens cernua, Callitriche palustris, Calla palustris.
