Habitat: In a pasture on a steep slope on the side of the Chanarambie Creek valley. In dry hill prairie dominated by Hesperostipa spartea, Schizachyrium scoparium and Sorghastrum nutans.
Associated Species: With Rudbeckia hirta, Ratibida pinnata, and Dalea candida.
