Habitat: Found growing in a sedge meadow in an old overflow channel of the St. Croix River. Locally scattered.
Substrate: Wet soil.
Associated Species: Associated with Carex lacustris, Phalaris arundinacea, Thelypteris palustris, Eutrochium maculatum, Boehmeria cylindrica, Alnus incana subsp. rugosa, Persicaria sagittata, Scirpus cyperinus.
