Habitat: Growing in East Rush Lake (ID 13003901), a 1500 acre eutrophic basin situated in the Mille Lacs Uplands Ecological Subsection. In a human-made channel providing lake access to numerous homes on the southern bay. Sheltered, quiet area with stagnant water. Water depth 0.6 meters. Individuals locally abundant, densely covering the surface of the water.
Substrate: Soft, mucky substrate.
Associated Species: Associates include Wolffia columbiana, Lemna trisulca, L. turionifera, Spirodela polyrrhiza, Nymphaea odorata, Ceratophyllum demersum, Potamogeton zosteriformis, P. crispus.
Description: Dark green body with a flat dorsal side.
