Habitat: Growing in the southwest portion of Big Birch Lake (ID 77008400), a 2,100 acre lake situated in the Hardwood Hills Ecological Subsection. Water clarity high. Sheltered area within a stand of Schoenoplectus sp. Locally sparse. Submerged in 0.5 meters of water. Flower held above water's surface.
Substrate: Sand substrate.
Associated Species: Associated with Utricularia vulgaris, Heteranthera dubia, Ranunculus aquatilis var. diffusus, Potamogeton natans, Nymphaea odorata, Ceratophyllum demersum.
