Habitat: On ground at base of dead wood, part of a stump.

Description: Field Description: Brown, cushion-shaped basidiocarp with soft, acute, light brown to whitish points extending from the surface ca. 1-3 mm; the cushion 7.5 cm long x 5 cm wide x 5.5 cm high, its interior a series of concentric bands, 3-5 mm thick, in shades of dark brown to more yellowish brown toward the surface; its texture soft to hard and perhaps gelatinous when fresh; the surface spines arranged in circles forming tubes ca. 1 mm wide.
