Habitat: 7 clumps localized to exposed gravelly area (1.5m x 1.5m) from possible erosion. Most have past fruiting stalks. Aspect: NW (305°) Slope: 10°. Grading quickly to wet meadow stream valley. Common associates: Solidago nemoralis, Rosa arkansana, Dalea purpurea, Solidago rigida, Ratibida columnifera, Andropogon gerardii, Koeleria macrantha, Hesperostipa spartea, Echinacea angustifolia, and Bouteloua curtipendula.
