Locality: United States, Minnesota, Pine, Banning State Park. East side of Kettle River approximately 4 km northeast of Sandstone and 2.5 km southeast of the MN Hwy 23 and Interstate 35 junction.

Habitat: Plants growing along exposed, vertical, sandstone face. Near continuous along cracks in lower one-third of bedrock (about 3 m in height). Partial shade of red pine woodland. Vegetation sparse. Often associated with Dryopteris fragrans.
