Locality: United States, Michigan, Voss's Boreal Flora class at Pellston, MI. Final exam specimen. Tall shrub or small tree growth form.
Habitat: Location unknown. Habitat in Michigan includes: rich deciduous woods, conifer-hardwoods, sandy wooded bluffs, occassionally in cedar swamps. It thrives especially well close to Lake Superior and is less common inland.
