Growing near the eastern shoreline of Mukooda Lake (ID 69068400), a 775 acre mesotrophic basin situated in the Border Lakes Ecological Subsection. Water clarity good. Individuals locally common, emergent in 45 centimeters of water.

Associates include Stuckenia pectinata, Lobelia dortmanna, Najas flexilis.
