Habitat: Growing near the southwest shoreline of Monson Lake (ID 76003300), a shallow, 200 acre eutrophic basin situated in the Minnesota River Prairie Ecological Subsection. Water clarity good. Individuals locally common in 0.5 meters of water. Bordering the opening to a protected bay. Observed throughout basin's nearshore zone.
Substrate: Gravel substrate.
Associated Species: Associated with Potamogeton richardsonii, Stuckenia pectinata, Heteranthera dubia, Najas flexilis.
