Habitat: Growing near the southeast shoreline of Gilchrist Lake (ID 61007200), a 335 acre eutrophic basin situated in the Minnesota River Prairie Ecological Subsection. Water clarity varied from good to poor. Near the public water access. Individuals locally common in 1 meter of water.

Substrate: Silt substrate.

Associated Taxa: Associated with Ceratophyllum demersum, Heteranthera dubia, Myriophyllum spicatum.
