Growing near the northern shoreline of Amelia Lake (ID 61006400), a 930 acre mesotrophic basin situated in the Minnesota River Prairie Ecological Subsection. Water clarity high. Basin has natural sand-gravel points. Moderate to high shoreline development. Individuals locally abundant in 0.5 meters of water.
Gravel substrate.
Associated with Ceratophyllum demersum, Heteranthera dubia, Nuphar variegata, Lemna trisulca, Utricularia vulgaris, Potamogeton illinoensis, P. zosteriformis, Najas flexilis.
