Habitat: Growing in the eastern arm of South Center Lake (ID 13002700), a deep 830 acre eutrophic basin situated in the Mille Lacs Uplands Ecological Subsection. Individuals locally common, forming small stands in 60 centimeters of water depth.
Substrate: Sand substrate.
Associated Species: Associates include Nymphaea odorata, Potamogeton crispus, P. zosteriformis, P. robbinsii, Myriophyllum spicatum, Lemna trisulca.
