Habitat: basalt bedrock shelf 40-60 feet above the lake. Forming small clumps in dry crevices. Full sun. Associated species include Deschampsia cespitosa, Solidago ptarmicoides, Euphrasia hudsoniana, Campanula rotundifolia, Potentilla fruticosa, P. tridentata.
