Barbula cylindrica, Grimmia alpicola var. rivularis
Scme B. cylindrica may occurr in the gathering, and possibly some B. lurida. B. Nicholsoni is easily recognised by the bistratose margins, uniting with the thick nerve to make a stout incrassate point. The Lincombe plant has cells rather less papillose and obscure then is usually the case. 0wing to the wet season of 1924. during wich the plant must have been usually submerged, being followed by sudden desiccation, the apices of the leaves tend to be discoloured, giving the appearance of hair points."
"Barbula Nicholsoni has now been found, usually in similiar loca- lities, in a good many localities throughout England."
