Catalog (Accession) #: 27440
Occurrence ID (GUID): bc22848f-b43b-4c77-99fd-e2ecb5ffa606
Secondary Catalog (Accession) #: 1139335
Taxon: Leptodictyum riparium (Hedw.) Warnst.
Family: Amblystegiaceae
Collector: Boyer   471
Date: 1914-06-00
Verbatim Date: June, 1914
Locality: United States, Maryland, Baltimore, by Franklin Road
Habitat: in water in swamp
Description: Robust, floating, scarcely to be distinguished from var. fluitans (L.&J.) R.&C., except for the bluntish apex of the leaves, which much resembles that in A. vacilians to which this form has previously been referred. Comparison of this plant with the type of A. vacillians shows it to be much more robust than that species with alar cells much less distinct and with the leaves more plainly decurrent. No. 355 N. Am. Musci Pleurocarpi is to be regarded as the type is it more uniform than the Baltimore plant. No. 269 is probably best treated as a form of the same thing.
