Habitat: boggy, floating sedge mat around the margin of a shallow, marly lake. Canopy varies fromm dense to quite open stands of Larix laricina. On wet, mossy hummocks including Sphagnum. Asociates include Carex leptalea, C. comosa, Pyrola rotundifolia, Caltha palustris, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Sagittagia [sic] latifolia, Campanula rotundifolia, Cypripedium reginae, Platanthera hyperborea, Thelypteris palustris, Triadenum fraseri, Drosera rotundifolia
