Habitat: Level outwash terrain on the east side of [lake] ... along the eastern end (nearest the upland) of a boardwalk which runs across the sedge fen and marsh to the edge of the lake ... in moist sand and shallow peat over sand in area repeatedly disturbed by lake access-related use; some plants in shallow water. Also ... in surrounding undisturbed rich sedge fen. Full sun. associates include eleocharis elliptica, Dulichium arundinaceum, Carex lasiocarpa, C. buxbaumii, Glyceria striata, Juncus nodosus, Thelypteris palustris, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Triadenum fraseri, Potentilla palustris, Iris versicolor.
