Habitat: Frequent to abundant in a series of seepage meadows perched on gentle slopes along a broad ravine, in a moderately grazed pasture. ~10 acres of seepage meadow maintained by diffuse and often rather subtle groundwater emergence. Fairly firm (to locally somewhat buoyant) saturated muck and mucky-silt. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex laevivaginata, C. hysteracina, C. vulpinoidea, C. granularis, C. stipata, C. pellita, Eleocharis erythropoda, Scirpus atrovirens, Juncus dudleyi, Glyceria striata, G. grandis, Helenium autumnale, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Lycopus americanus.
