Habitat:
Locally abundant in a series of seepage meadows perched on gentle slopes along a broad ravine, in a moderately grazed pasture. Co-dominant with Carex lacustris in the wettest zones of ~10 acres of seepage meadow maintained by diffuse and often rather subtle groundwater emergence. Fairly buoyant wet muck. Full sun. Tall, dense hummocks with up to a few dozen fertile culms, though most plants are sterile. Large patches.
