Habitat:
Very local near a hiking trail on a broad alluvial terrace that is ~5-10 feet above elevation of the true floodplain. Degraded (heavily past grazed) and increasingly overgrown oak savanna. Partial shade below large, open-grown Quercus macrocarpa. Several robust clumps here; dozens of fertile culms.
