Habitat:
Common in a small alluvial marsh dominated by Bolboschoenus fluviatilis. Full sun to partial shade of Acer saccharinum that dominates the canopy of the surrounding floodplain forest. Deep, very wet, highly-decomposed peaty muck.

Additional associates include Sparganium eurycarpum, Scutellaria galericulata, Persicaria punctata, Bidens cernua, B. tripartita, Pilea fontana, Lemna minor, Typha angustifolia, Leersia oryzoides.
