Habitat: Infrequent on a large gravel bar exposed by receding river levels. Moist, coarse, sand and gravel with a cap of small rounded cobbles mostly 0.5-2 (0.25-4) inches in diameter; setting is ~3-5 inches above the present river level. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Eleocharis acicularis, E. elliptica, E. intermedia, Cyperus squarrosus, C. bipartitus, C. diandrus, Lipocarpha micrantha, Panicum philadelphicum, Leersia oryzoides, Persicaria hydropiper, P. maculosa, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Lindernia dubia, Ludwigia palustris, Bidens cernua, Mimulus ringens, Rumex fueginus.
