Locality:
United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Babe Island in Lake of the Woods, near the Canadian border 31 miles northeast of Warroad. On the northeastern shore of this 8-acre bedrock island.

Habitat:
Uncommon and local. Very few plants here, in pockets of moist, detrital-organic soil along crevices of gently sloping, wave-washed gabbro, within ~12 inches above the lake level. Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species:
Associates include Carex crawfordii, Eleocharis erythropoda, E. acicularis, Alopecurus aequalis, Agrostis scabra, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Verbena hastata, Persicaria lapathifolia, Euthamia graminifolia, Hypericum majus, Juncus interior.
