Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Babe Island in Lake of the Woods, near the Canadian border 31 miles northeast of Warroad. On the northeastern shore of this 8-acre bedrock island.

Habitat: Locally common. Small patches in pockets of moist, detrital-organic soil along crevices of gently sloping, wave-washed gabbro, mostly within ~12 inches above the lake level. Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex crawfordii, Eleocharis erythropoda, E. acicularis, Cyperus squarrosus, Alopecurus aequalis, Agrostis scabra, Juncus interior, Euthamia graminifolia, Verbena hastata, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Persicaria lapathifolia.
