Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Babe Island in Lake of the Woods, near the Canadian border 31 miles northeast of Warroad. On the northeastern shore of this 8-acre bedrock island.

Habitat: Local, infrequent, several clumps here in pockets of moist, detrital-organic soil along crevices of gently sloping, wave-washed gabbro, within ~12 inches above the lake level. Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Eleocharis erythropoda, Carex crawfordii, Juncus interior, Cyperus squarrosus, Alopecurus aequalis, Agrostis scabra, Hypericum majus, Verbena hastata, Euthamia graminifolia, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Persicaria lapathifolia.
