Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Along the eastern shore of Flag Island, Lake of the Woods, near the Canadian border 9 miles east-southeast of Angle Inlet, 34 miles northeast of Warroad.

Habitat: Common in a shallow bay sheltered from storm waves by two small islands. Water depth is 3-4 feet. Rooting in firm mud. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Myriophyllum sibiricum, Nymphaea tuberosa, Heteranthera dubia, Vallisneria americana.
