Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. On the shore of Lake of the Woods at Driftwood Point, 27 miles northeast of Warroad.

Habitat: Frequent on the beach in coarse sand, often amongst pieces of driftwood. Extending into the very sparsely-vegetated wave-washed zone, closer to the water than most of the other beach plants here. Full sun.

Associated Taxa: Associates include Juncus arcticus, Agrostis scabra, Cyperus squarrosus, Carex sychnocephala, C. hystericina, Equisetum arvense, Oenothera oakesiana, Cirsium arvense, Rumex triangulivalvis, Potentilla norvegica, P. anserina, Lathyrus maritimus, Agalinus tenuifolia, Persicaria lapathifolia, Xanthium strumarium.
