Local along the inland side of a fairly broad sandy beach. Loose patches in a level to gently sloping setting, ~60 feet from the lake and ~24-30 inches above lake level. Deep, fine, dry sand. Mostly in full sun.
Associates include Carex pellita, Cyperus schweinitzii, Potentilla norvegica, Oenothera oakesiana, Equisetum arvense, Lathyrus maritimus, Euthamia graminifolia, Juncus arcticus.
