Habitat:
Frequent in a small slough on the back side of the beach, and in a shallow lagoon sheltered behind the point. Substrate varies from deep sand, to shallow sand over peat, to muck. Forming loose to rather dense patches. Plants are entirely submerged, except in denser patches where the upper portions of the stems form floating mats. Water depth in the slough varies from 18-36+ inches, in the lagoon less than 12 inches. Full sun.
Associated Species:
Associates in the slough (no associates present in the lagoon) include Myriophyllum sibiricum, Elodea canadensis, Potamogeton pusillus, P. robbinsii, Nymphaea tuberosa.
