Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Along the shore of Lake of the Woods at Rooty Point, 25 miles northeast of Warroad.

Habitat: Local on the shores of a small, shallow (<12 inches deep) lagoon connected to the lake by a narrow strip of shallow water, and somewhat sheltered behind the sandy point. Occasional in substrates varying from muck to sand, in wet settings within a few inches of the water. Small clumps, many of which have been cropped quite low by geese. In full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Ranunculus gmelini, Callitriche palustris, Persicaria lapathifolia, Juncus alpinoarticulatus, Alopecurus aequalis, Cyperus squarrosus, Eleocharis acicularis.
