United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Sugar Point, Lake of the Woods, eight miles southeast of Angle Inlet, 32 miles northeast of Warroad. On a small (3/4-acre) bedrock island ~150 yards offshore.

Local, frequent on the highest portion of the island, 10-15 feet above the lake. Shallow soil over level to gently sloping, quite rounded, and little-fractured granitic rock. Mostly in full sun. Ray flowers are white to a very light bluish-purple.
Associates include Allium stellatum, Euthamia graminifolia, Cerastium arvense, Achillea millefolium, Campanula rotundifolia, Agastache foeniculum, Galium boreale, Muhlenbergia mexicana.
