Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Level to fairly rugged bedrock terrain six miles east-southeast of Angle Inlet, 33 miles north-northeast of Warroad. East of the old feldspar mine.

Habitat: Local along an all-terrain vehicle trail as it cuts through a wet ash forest. Forming small patches in moist dark clay. Patchy canopy of Fraxinus nigra. Understory of Abies balsamea, Fraxinus nigra, and Thuja occidentalis. Partial sun to shade.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex retrorsa, Glyceria striata, Leersia oryzoides, Solidago gigantea, Equisetum arvense, Plantago major, Rudbeckia laciniata.
