Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Rolling bedrock terrain on the north side of Flag Island in Lake of the Woods, along the Canadian border eight miles east-southeast of Angle Inlet, 35 miles northeast of Warroad.

Elevation: 331 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1085 feet

Habitat: Local, a loose colony of several dozen vertical shoots in mesic upland cedar forest, near the margin of a large granite outcrop that rises ~30 feet. Partial sun to full shade beneath an interrupted canopy dominated by Thuja occidentalis and Populus tremuloides. Understory is mostly Abies balsamea. Thick leaf litter over silty-loam.

Associated Taxa: Additional associates include Clintonia borealis, Aralia nudicaulis, Aster macrophyllus, Streptopus roseus, Linnaea borealis.
