Habitat:
Infrequent and sporadic on a gently-sloping ridge atop 200-foot bluffs. Mature mesic hardwood forest. Canopy dominated by large Quercus alba and Q. rubra, and scattered Acer saccharum, Tilia americana, and Fraxinus americana. Understory includes Acer saccharum and Ostrya virginiana. Silty clay. Loose clumps.
