Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Rolling to fairly rugged bedrock terrain on Oak Island, 11 miles east-southeast of Angle Inlet, 35 miles northeast of Warroad.

Elevation: 334 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1095 feet

Habitat: Common in mesic woodland. Canopy of Thuja occidentalis, Betula papyrifera, Abies balsamea, Populus tremuloides, and Picea glauca. Understory dominated by Abies balsamea, with scattered Acer spicatum. Full shade to partial sun. Level to sloping settings. Heavily-wormed, fine sandy-silt. Often in carpets of Pleurozium schreberi and Dicranum polysetum.

Associated Taxa: Additional associates include Diphasiastrum complanatum, Huperzia lucidula, Lycopodium lagopus, Platanthera hookeri, Clintonia borealis, Cornus canadensis, Aralia nudicaulis.
