Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Northwest Angle. Atop a large bedrock ridge on Magneson's Island in Lake of the Woods, 4 miles east-northeast of Angle Inlet, 35 miles north-northeast of Warroad.

Habitat: Occasional in a large rock outcrop complex that rises up to 50 feet above the rest of the island. Full sun to partial shade of Pinus banksiana, in rock outcrop and bedrock savanna settings. Rooting in thin dry soil over level to sloping, rounded granitic rock. Stems mostly trailing over the bedrock and thru carpets of Cladina rangiferina, C. mitis, C. stellaris, Polytrichum strictum, and P. commune.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Dichanthelium implicatum, Danthonia spicata, Agrostis scabra, Carex adusta, Corydalis sempervirens, Fallopia scandens.
