Locality: United States, Minnesota, Stearns, on the edge of Happy Valley State Wildlife Management Area. Rolling till plain just east of the South Two River, 2.5 miles northeast of Holdingford.

Elevation: 340 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1115 feet

Habitat: Occasional to locally abundant in rich mesic hardwood forest dominated by Acer saccharum, with occasional Quercus macrocarpa, Tilia americana, and Fraxinus nigra. Understory includes Ostrya virginiana and Ulmus americana. Level to gently sloping settings. Rich, black silty-loam. Cespitose, but forming small to often quite large patches.

Associated Taxa: Associates include Carex hirtifolia, C. blanda, C. pensylvanica, Viola pubescens, Galium aparine, Mitella diphylla, Claytonia virginica, Cryptotaenia canadensis, Geranium maculatum.
