Locality: United States, Minnesota, Stearns, on the edge of Happy Valley State Wildlife Management Area. Rolling till plain just east of the South Two River, 2.5 miles northeast of Holdingford.

Elevation: 341 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 1120 feet
Habitat: Infrequent in a broad wet-mesic hardwood forest (~ash swamp) ecotone surrounding a groundwater seepage zone. Patchy canopy of immature Fraxinus nigra, with scattered Betula papyrifera. Mostly on raised (slightly less wet) microsites along old decaying logs, around tree bases, and on mucky hummocks. Essentially level setting. Loose clumps.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex pedunculata, C. radiata, C. peckii, C. gracillima, C. blanda, Claytonia virginica, Ranunculus recurvatus, Asarum canadense, Mitella diphylla, Aralia racemosa, Impatiens capensis.
